'California' is the latest single to be lifted from the current 'Stockholm' long player and appears in three forms. The single itself starts in a sedate, folkish mood before synth pop beats kick in drawing comparisons to The Pet Shop Boys. Norwegian singer/songwriter Dylan Mondegreen then supplies this take on the longing and yearning Ikkje Gråt for Me, California. The final version is a demo recording which is less polished and, with the synths being toned down, gives the track a different feel. Three solid versions of one fine track!   --Records I Like

Beh, guarda un po’ che bella sorpresa dalla premiata ditta Red Sleeping Beauty + Dylan Mondegreen. La band svedese è tornata con un album davvero delizoso come “Stockholm”, ancora in cima ai nostri ascolti più gettonati. La canzone “Don’t Cry for Me, California” è un vero e proprio tributo ai migliori Pet Shop Boys e infatti è davvero uno degli apici del disco.La vera sorpresa non è tanto la versione demo della band, quanto l’interpretazione tutta personale (in norvegese, per giunta) di Dylan Mondegreen (altro nostro favorito), che ovviamente infonde un tocco morbido e delicatisismo al brano, che trova una lieve ritmica ma sopratutto la chitarra classica e la voce carezzevole di Dylan.
