Azure Blue - Shine On

matda005  /  December 2018

Six months after the album 'Fast Falls The Eventide' Tobias Isaksson presents the first single from the album 'Images Of You' coming in early 2019. The dreamy sound from Azure Blue’s internationally acclaimed first album is back but with sharper contours and colors, more distinct rhythms and shimmier reverbs that brighten up the songs like northern light. 'Images Of You' is an album written directly to his girlfriend. The words float around like romantic ghosts. In one way completely lost in these times. In another way indisputable. A bitter sweet milestone.

reviews

We have good news! Tobias Isaksson, aka Azure Blue, plans to release new album Images of You in March 2019 via Matinees Recordings.  And to remind us all why we care, he has carved out album track "Shine On" as the first single.  With all of the uplifting tones of the new romantics movement and co-vocals by The Land Below, it is Swedish synth pop at its finest. --When You Motor Away

Sweden’s Tobias Isaksson, aka Azure Blue, will return in early 2019 with new album Images Of You. Today we share with you the uplifting synth-led electro lead single “Shine On.” The colorful track has a big uplifting spirit to it, with a romantic feeling of passion as well as a dreamy  style that fits his sound perfectly. --We All Want Someone To Shout For

Having already released the Fast Falls the Eventide LP earlier this year, Azure Blue is back with another sensational electro-pop single to warm your hearts. The synth work throughout definitely nods to 80s soundtrack scores, though with perhaps a heavier bend on pushing the natural hooks. But, you don’t have success until you combine those hooks with Tobias Isaksson’s voice; he has this naturally hushed calm that rides atop these songs, charming passersby from the get-go. No word on when exactly the new album will hit, but we’ve been promised it will be ready by next year via Matinée Recordings. --Austin Town Hall
